Frost Bite Cruise

In 100 years of trying we could never thank Ira’s enough for their hospitality each year for this event. Stuart and Bebe have for many years given us access to their farm on Black Creek for our Frost Bite Cruise. Attendance was amazing and may have been our best turnout ever. At last count we had over 1,050 feet of boats gathered and over 200 in attendance for the dinner on Saturday night. Adding to the fun was our 2nd Annual Frost Bite Catfish Rodeo. We had plenty of lines in the water, but no catfi sh. That’s something to work on for next year!

Blessing of the Fleet

Up next is our annual Blessing of the Fleet to be held on Sunday April 13th. This year we will return to a full boat parade for the event along with a dock party. Please plan to bring your boat and your family out for this fun event. Weather permitting we will kick things off at 2:00 pm and Parade at 3:00 pm. If you have any questions about this year’s event please contact Randy Mancuso at (904) 891-4823.

Annual FYC Cruise to Welaka, FL on July 13-15, 2007!

Welaka Springs

The cool clear springs of Welaka are calling us once again. There is no greater weekend getaway than this classic old Florida setting on the St. Johns River. With plenty to do besides fishing and swimming, you may decide not to go home. See the list at the bottom of this bulletin.

At last check Andersen Lodge has several rooms remaining for those who need shore side accommodations. They can be reached at http://www.andersenlodge.org or by calling them at (386) 467-3344.

Cruisers needing a slip should also call Andersen Lodge to make appropriate arrangements. Alternatively, boats can anchor outside the channel near marker number 48 and still be near the action.

Be sure to call the club at 387-1653 and let us know you’re coming regardless of where you’ll be staying so we can have an accurate head count.

If you have any questions please call Brooks Busey at 384-1383. We look forward to seeing you there!
