St. Augustine City Marina Downtown

April 26th, 27th, 28th

Register Here

As everyone knows there is plenty to do in St Augustine, but this year we have arranged a special evening Friday night…cocktails and dinner in the Officers Club of the Florida National Guard Headquarters.  This is an incredibly historic place with a small museum detailing the history of the Guard and the property it occupies; can you say 450 years old!  You can’t walk in without an invitation and we’re lucky enough to have one… don’t miss this…one of the coolest spots in the city that no one knows about.  FYC cruisers would like to thank the Jacksonville Commodores League for including FYC members in a very special Friday evening.

Saturday, join us for a behind the scenes walking tour of The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. The Museum today serves 225,000 visitors each year. The tour includes artifact conservation areas featuring artifacts from historic shipwrecks, ship modeling, Heritage Boat Building and interactive exhibitions and of course, a lighthouse!  I promise you’ll learn something you didn’t know about Northeast Florida.

We have a block of slips reserved for boats of all sizes, when you register as coming by boat we will take care of your slip reservation.  If you need a hotel room you will need to make your own reservation.  The officers club is easy walking distance, about two blocks from the marina or nearby hotels.

Jekyll Island, Georgia

June 7th, 8th, 9th

Register Here

This is sure to be another great FYC adventure…there will be plenty of daytime activity for everyone. We will be on the face dock at Jekyll Harbor Marina, the marina prior to passing under the bridge. This is the same side tie as Fernandina Harbor Marina. It is approximately 65 nm to Jekyll Harbor. Click Here for more info on Jekyll Harbor Marina.

This is a great cruise to bring your bicycle, the marina has some but they could be hard to come by as the marina could be full. Also, the north end of Cumberland Island is not far if you have a small boat and want some beach time. The marina has a pool which will be perfect for an afternoon swim. They also have a great place to cook out. So I would recommend our normal format for Friday and Saturday night, it seems to work pretty well.

Schedule of Events

Thursday, June 6th
Friday, June 7th

Saturday, June 8th

Sunday, June 9th

Arrival for anyone coming Thursday, on your own for dinner.
Arrival throughout day
6:30pm – FYC Burn-It in Pool area…first baby beer! Remember bring your favorite meat for the grill, everyone bring a side dish. I will start the side dish email when we get closer.
11:00am – Open: First Annual FYC Jekyll Island Miniature Golf Championship
Explore Jekyll Island
6:30pm – Dinner at Zachary’s Riverhouse – on marina property by the pool.
Later…More baby beer!
Depart

If anyone needs a hotel room, there are plenty of hotels. We are not holding any rooms anywhere, there are too many choices. If you need a room you need to make your reservation directly and probably soon, I’m sure most hotels will be full.

We will be handling your slip reservation so please register Here for Jekyll.

We’re looking forward to a great weekend, see you there!

Welaka Trip

July 26th, 27th, 28th

What better way to spend a hot summer day than the cool waters of Florida springs, and do it with your friends and fellow boaters!

This year we have people staying in several different places, River Bend Condos, Renegages on the River (386-524-4179), Welaka Lodge (386-467-7171), Andersens Lodge (386-467-3639) and Georgetown Marina and Lodge (386-467-2002). As such, I am not making reservations or holding any cabins or boat slips this year, everyone will need to make their own, first come first served. Find a spot early, I’m sure most places will fill up.

Based on last year’s great time, I will suggest:

Day Trips

Friday, July 26th

Saturday, July 27th

Suggest a trip to Salt Springs. A great ride up Salt Springs Creek to the springs, can’t wait for that 72 degree water. If you don’t like grass touching your feet, wear water shoes, but last year we were in the sand.
Trip to Silver Glenn Springs….ahhhh… more cool water… more Pool and Tiki Bar. For those that don’t know, Silver Glenn is a State Park, no alcohol allowed, even on the boat. That said… keep everything out of sight, in paper cup, don’t pour in the open, act normal and life will be good!

Dinner each night is on your own, but I imagine groups will get together and decide what they would like to do, grill out wherever you are staying or dine out, maybe Shrimps Are Us in Welaka or Renegades restaurant there on property.

Last year we had at least 90 people down there and it looks like we’ll have at least that many this time around. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on the water.

St. Johns/Ortega River Poker Run

Saturday, August 24th

Calling ALL Boaters!

Join us at the FYC starting 11:30a.m. for the captains meeting over lunch around the Pirates Den patio. You will be tasked to locate and record the secret letter (a,b,c, etc) at seven different locations only visible by boat. Find the secret letter and write it down. Five of the locations will be fairly easy to find, two may require a little thinking! You must be back to the club by 2:30P.M. For each letter you have recorded correctly you will draw one card. You will play five of your seven cards, the event chairman will determine the type of hand that wins (since many of you cheated last time and I saw it!!!! You know who you are!!!). Drawing will be held at the adult pool bar. One entry per boat, but you are encouraged to bring your friends to enjoy the fun.

See you on the Water!
